love, hate, and broccoli

Yesterday I mentioned to the Boy that I have a love/hate relationship with broccoli. He suggested it was more of a hate/tolerate relationship.

Broccoli is just so.... BITTER to me.

Anyway, so it's day two of my diet that's FINALLY started. I kept trying and then going way off track. But this time I'm doing good. Yesterday the only bad thing I ate was the breading on the chicken strips I felt like I needed to buy.

Why I felt I needed to is ANOTHER story - one which I will not spout here.

Anyway, and this morning I ate a one-egg omelet with spinach and cheese (and a little onion powder). And I made a salad for lunch... yay! Tonight my mom is making spaghetti for dinner (it's Wednesday night - which is activity night so we go up for dinner too) which isn't really allowed on the first couple of weeks of south beach... but I think I'll just eat on a smaller plate. Spaghetti is my weakness.

Anyway, yeah.... baby steps. I was going to get up at 6:00 and try to get to work by 7:30... but I got up at 7:30 and was here by 8:30... That's ok. I'll get in earlier eventually. And I need to add exercise, but one thing at a time.

My stomach already looks a tiny bit flatter. Hehe

Good plan -- smaller plates. hheheeh. Good job on the new diet. :)

Raw broccoli can actually be very sweet if you're not eating a lot of sugars and sweeteners in your diet.

AND, the stalks of broccoli and asparagus (the part we don't like eating because it's tougher) can be boiled down into a great veggie broth for soups.

Yay for flatter tummies!
