OK, let's get this part over with:
- Age: 28
- Height: 5'4"
- Weight Today (or the last time you weighed): Is it OK to keep it private? I have a REALLY good reason. Kipluck can fill you in.
- Your current "widely accepted" clothing size (as in by regular retail standards): Same as above
- How much you'd like to lose (no timeframes please): Oh fifty would be just 'bout right.
- Your plan: My husband and I are on the yeast diet. It's something my endocrinologist put me on last summer when I told him that not a single pregnancy pound was budging. For the first time since having Micah, the weight literally melted off, typically 5-7 pounds a week! Unfortunately, though, I went off it for the holidays. Big mistake. Yeast and sugar are my enemies. Basically, you take these allergy tests to find out what foods cause that negative reaction within your body, yeast and sugar being the obvious ones. I had some other interesting foods show up on my allergens list such as wheat, tomatoes, soy, dairy, etc.!
- What's been holding you back so far: Well, after the pregnancy, I tried EVERYTHING. My doctor ran tests and discovered I had zero progesterone, and that's something that was definitely missing for me. So really, it was a matter of not having the right plan until my doc sent me to the endocrinologist. Then the holidays came around and Scott and I thought, "Well, what could a few treats hurt?" umm, yeah.
Things I'm allowed to eat:
meat
brown rice
vegetables
butter
olive oil
oats
most nuts
sweet potatoes
small amounts of vinegar (like in a salad)
rice or almond milk
spelt in place of wheat in recipes
Things I have to avoid:
wheat
flour
soy
dairy
fruit
sugar of ANY kind, and I can never have artificial sugar ever again!
soda pop (this is forever banned as well. The endocrinologist explained why diet soda is of the devil!)
corn
potatoes
walnuts or peanuts
tomatoes
yeast
Now, I know it sounds super restrictive, but it's surprisingly not. I have some great recipes that my dietician gave me that are wonderful! Scott and I did this for three months in the summer, and both really loved it!
So there you have it. I think for me, the challenge is going to find time to exercise. Scott says I should do it while Micah naps, and I know he's right... I just hate to work out during that precious small amount of time to myself. :) I can't wait until the weather warms up again so I can take Micah walking outside again.

hooray! welcome!
Hmm.. that diet sounds really interesting. And it sounds like it makes sense too! I should go see someone about possible food allergies...
Wow Laurie!! Welcome! Food allergies are a big one. I should go get tested adn see if there's anything else I don't know about, other than the obvious ones which cause symptoms like migraines and diarrhea ... lolol
YAY! You came! And don't worry, you do not have to post your weight and stuff if you don't want to. We make our OWN rules, dang it! hee hee!
