Biggest Loser... can't do it.

Okay, I've been talking about going on Biggest Loser for a few years now. I had just filled out the application and was getting ready to make my video when we found out we were expecting Bronson. I decided I would try again for the next season. They're taking couples applications again and my little sister said she'd do it with me.

Nope. I can't do it because of my recent c-section. It's just barely healed (still kinda open... it's complicated) 3 months later. I'm so pissed.

I just don't have the motivation to get serious about exercising when I'm at home with the boys all day and it's freezing outside.

I don't know what to do anymore.

We've also gotten into the habit of planning toddler friendly meals. That's not good for me. Chicken nuggets, tater tots, hot dogs, mac & cheese... I'm going to die.

I don't know if it's toddler friendly for YOUR family, but maybe you could start doing things like substituting carrot sticks for tator tots or "homemade" chicken bites (grill up cut up boneless, skinless chicken breasts)... things like that. I'm no mom, but it might help YOU at least and it might help your family grow up healthier too.

You can do it! Even little steps help! Even if weight doesn't come off, eating better foods will help you be healthier. :)

Ooo, Steph has some good ideas there Katie. You can still serve sauces (I know Bronson loves sauce) on the side -- bbq, sweet and sour, etc.

You can also make homemade fries out of sweet potatoes or regular potatoes: Slice them up, spray with a bit of Pam, sprinkle with onion powder, and bake at 400 or 450 until done. They won't taste exactly the same, but they also won't have the fat content of the other kind.

It's really hard with toddlers who are picky little boogers to have a healthy diet, but I think it's worth it in the long run. Teaches them better eating habits too. We're still struggling with kiddo, who made herself puke every time I gave her a vegetable other than green beans or a fruit unless it was in a smoothie, but she's learning a balanced diet is good and she has more energy. Moms need that, too. :)

HUGS!!!

Oh, Katz, I am so sorry about Biggest Loser. And kid food is NOT so health conscious, I know. Maybe you can find some random things he likes, though... SOMETHING... that are more healthy.

We'll all be on the look out. Frankly, *I* need to, to, because *blush* that is also KIP-friendly food. I am so not good at... eating.

can you bread the chicken pieces yourself and then bake them in then oven? Then you know exactly what is going into them.
